Tools required – how to insulate bay window

To insulate the bay window, the following tools are required

  1. Electric Drill with Pozi Drive
  2. Red or Brown Rawl Plugs
  3. Hand Wood Saw
  4. Tape Measure
  5. Work Bench
  6. Carpenters Pencil
  7. Spirit Level
  8. Hammer

Preparation to install the bay window

If you are considering installing the bay window then, install the bay window or replace the previous window before starting the insulation. Then replace the old timber cladding above the window with new uPVC cladding. Then fill this cladding with 100 mm of teletex. Then prepare the room inside for proper insulation. Fix Insulated Plasterboard to Timber Battens

In that step, you have to need to cut the insulted plasterboard to the width of the battens. The bay window needs near about 8 panels, so cut the 600mm wide, then cut the 2 smaller widths at the ends. Then fix the insulated plasterboard sheets to timber battens by using 8 screws per sheet.

At the last, you need to plaster over the insulated plasterboard and then attach the window boards. Then your insulated bay window, you can use or decorate according to your choice.
